No heat, a drum that won't turn, or clothes still damp after a full cycle. We check the vent run first, since a blocked vent causes more of these calls than the dryer itself.
Match your type on the left, check what it's doing on the right, then let us take it from there.
Which Type Do You Have?
Every layout, every major brand, we've worked on them all.
What's Gone Wrong?
Whatever your dryer is doing, chances are we've seen it this week.
No Heat
Drum still tumbles normally but clothes come out cold. Usually a burned-out heating element or a tripped thermal fuse, often caused by restricted airflow.
Still Damp
Takes two or three cycles to actually dry a load. Almost always a restricted vent rather than a fault with the dryer itself, the single most common cause we see.
Drum Won't Turn
Motor hums but nothing moves inside. A snapped or slipped belt is the usual explanation when the motor runs but the drum stays still.
Loud Squealing
A high-pitched noise right as the drum starts turning. Often dry drum support rollers that need lubrication or replacement.
Burning Smell
A faint scorched smell in the first few minutes of a cycle. Usually lint built up near the heating element, worth checking before it becomes a bigger issue.
Shuts Off Early
Stops partway through before clothes are actually dry. Often a thermal cutoff tripping early, usually tied to restricted airflow somewhere in the vent run.

Real dryer repairs, from quick fixes to the ones nobody else could figure out.
Dryer had gone from one cycle to three just to get a load dry. Vent was choked with lint the whole way to the outside wall, cleared and we're back to one cycle.
No heat at all one morning, drum still turning fine otherwise. Heating element had burned out, replaced and tested a full cycle before he left.
Loud squealing every time it started up, got worse by the day. Drum rollers were dry and worn, quiet again within the hour.
Fixed the vent blockage properly, explained everything clearly. Four stars only because the appointment window ran a bit long.
Gas dryer kept shutting off maybe ten minutes into every cycle. Thermal cutoff was tripping from restricted airflow, cleared the vent and it runs a full cycle now.
Faint burning smell had us worried enough to unplug it and call immediately. Lint had built up right near the element, cleared and confirmed safe to use.
