A burner that won't light, an element stuck on high heat, or an igniter that just clicks without ever catching. We check the igniter and gas line first, since that's the most common cause on either type.
Match your type on the left, check what it's doing on the right, then let us take it from there.
Which Type Do You Have?
Every layout, every major brand, we've worked on them all.
What's Gone Wrong?
Whatever your stove is doing, chances are we've seen it this week.
Burner Won't Light
Clicks or sparks but the gas never catches. Often an igniter that's slightly out of position or a clogged orifice, stopping the spark from reaching the gas.
Element Stuck On High
One burner runs at full heat no matter the setting. Usually a stuck infinite switch controlling that burner, not a fault with the element itself.
Igniter Clicks Endlessly
A rapid clicking that never actually lights the burner. Usually moisture or debris inside the igniter module, stopping a reliable spark.
One Coil Won't Heat
A single element stays cold while the rest work fine. Usually an internal break in that element, visible once it's inspected closely.
Knob Spins Freely
Won't click into any of the marked settings anymore. Usually a worn detent spring inside the knob assembly, not the burner or valve.
Yellow Or Uneven Flame
Burning yellow instead of blue, or uneven around the ring. Often a partially clogged burner port, worth checking before assuming a bigger issue.

Burner clicked endlessly without ever lighting, right in the middle of making dinner. Igniter was slightly out of position, five minute fix once he got here.
One coil element wouldn't heat at all no matter the setting. Internal break in the element itself, replaced and even heat across the burner now.
Electric burner stuck on high heat constantly, couldn't turn it down at all. Infinite switch was stuck, fixed in the same visit.
Good fix on the gas burner igniter. Four stars only because the replacement part took an extra day to arrive.
Control knob spun freely and wouldn't click into any setting. Detent spring was worn, quick and inexpensive fix.
Flame was burning yellow instead of blue on just one burner. Port was partially clogged, cleared and burning properly now.
